A few days ago, there was news that Samsung Exynos 2400 chipset is powerful enough to run Genshin Impact at a stable 60 FPS without any stuttering. However, the details about the settings, such as resolution and graphics quality, were not mentioned in the news.

In a clip shared on X that lasted over a minute, @GaryeonHan showed that the reason 2400 can run Genshin Impact at a stable 60 FPS is that the texture resolution of the game seems to have been set too low. This is disappointing, especially considering that the GPU Xclipse 940, part of this chipset, is based on the newer AMD RDNA3 architecture.

The positive result, though, is that Exynos 2400 is a relatively new release from Samsung. This means that Genshin Impact developers haven’t optimized it for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, featuring the Exynos 2400. This is the reason why Exynos hasn’t been able to run Genshin at higher settings.

Discussions in the X thread also mention that the lack of optimization causes the game to run at lower resolutions, so future updates might improve the image quality. The Xclipse 940 GPU heavily relies on the Vulkan API, so Genshin Impact developers might be hesitant to switch.

Regardless, considering how Exynos 2400 has shown better performance stability than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and is on par with Apple’s A17 Pro, it cannot be concluded that this chipset is underpowered. We’ll have to wait for upcoming updates from Genshin to see if Exynos 2400 can be optimized for playing the game.
