The Xiaomi 14 Pro, launched exclusively in China in October 2023, never made its way to global markets. However, there’s exciting news about its successor, the Xiaomi 15 Pro, which is set to bring significant improvements to its 50 MP triple camera setup.

Xiaomi 15 Comes with Camera Enhancements Main Camera and Telephoto Improvement

Sources indicate that while the Xiaomi 15 Pro will maintain 50 MP sensors, it will feature new and improved ones for both the main and telephoto cameras. The main camera will now use a 1″-type OmniVision OV50K sensor, replacing the OVX9000 found in the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

The OV50K, though not yet officially launched by the US-Taiwanese imaging company, is expected to be an advanced successor to the already impressive OV50H seen in devices like the Honor Magic6 Pro, vivo iQOO 12 series, and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.

The telephoto lens will get a significant upgrade with the Sony IMX882 sensor, moving away from the older Samsung ISOCELL JN1. The new Sony sensor is larger (1/1.95″) compared to the Samsung sensor (1/2.76″), which should enhance image quality significantly.

These camera upgrades suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will offer a much-improved photography experience. Hopefully, this model will see an international release, allowing a broader audience to experience its capabilities.
