Fisch players are already getting ready for another update, and this week’s teaser gave the community a lot to talk about. Even though the next major content patch is expected to arrive on May 23 with the new Shady Bazaar, the developers still dropped a small preview for this weekend’s update. While it may look like a filler patch at first, there are actually a few interesting details hidden inside the leaked image.

The biggest talking point right now is the mysterious flag floating in the ocean, along with what looks like a brand-new whale and shark. Players are now trying to figure out whether this update will bring a new event system, hunting mechanic, or even the return of an old feature from early Fisch days.

New Whale and Shark Possibly Coming to Fisch

From the leaked image shared by Fisch producer Nick, players quickly noticed two large sea creatures in the background. One appears to be a humpback whale, while the other seems to be a new shark species.

The developers previously asked the community whether they wanted a new whale or shark added into the game. Later, they hinted that both creatures could eventually arrive, and now it looks like that might finally happen in this update.

Right now, nobody knows exactly how these creatures will spawn. Some players believe they could appear during migrations, while others think they may be tied to a hunt-style event similar to previous limited encounters. Since the creatures were spotted near Rosallet in the leak image, there is also a chance the event will happen somewhere around that area.

What Does the Flag Mean?

The strange flag in the middle of the ocean is the part that has players the most curious. Older Fisch players may remember that the game once had a flag system connected to catching rare fish.

Back then, whenever someone caught certain rare fish, a flag would appear where the catch happened. While the idea sounded cool, it caused heavy lag and performance problems, especially during busy farming sessions.

Many longtime players remember the old Captain Goldfish farming area, where huge groups stayed for hours stacking Aurora boosts and fishing nonstop. During those moments, the large amount of flags across servers became a major issue for performance.

Because of that history, some players are worried the flag system could return and create similar lag problems again.

Possible New Summoning Mechanic

There is also another theory floating around in the community. Instead of being part of the old catch system, the flag might actually be connected to summoning the new whale and shark.

Some players think it could work like a chum or bait drop system in open-sea fishing. The idea is that players place bait or chum into the water, attracting smaller fish first, then sharks, and eventually larger creatures like whales.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but the flag being placed directly in the ocean makes this theory sound possible.

Shady Bazaar Replacing the Black Market

The leak video also mentioned more information about the upcoming Shady Bazaar update. According to in-game announcements shared on the official Wiki Discord server, the current Black Market is getting a huge makeover.

The developers described it as a “crazy glow up,” which strongly suggests the Shady Bazaar may completely replace the existing Black Market area. Players are expecting a much larger shop system with more items, features, and possibly special NPC interactions.

Since the major update is planned for May 23, more leaks will probably appear throughout next week.

Admin Event Features Could Change Soon

Another small detail mentioned in the announcements is that new features for admin events may arrive soon. These systems could allow players to interact more directly during live admin activities instead of simply watching them happen. There are no exact details yet, but this could make future admin abuse events far more interactive and rewarding for players participating in servers.

Even if this weekend’s Fisch update ends up being smaller than expected, the leaks still introduced several interesting ideas. The possible arrival of a new shark and humpback whale already has players excited, while the mysterious flag system is creating plenty of theories across the community.

At the same time, the upcoming Shady Bazaar update is starting to look much bigger than people originally expected. If the Black Market really is getting replaced entirely, it could become one of the biggest changes Fisch has had in a while.

For now, players will just have to wait and see what actually appears once the update goes live.
