Where to Start the Shady Bazaar Quest
To begin unlocking the Shady Bazaar, head over to Moosewood first. Once you arrive, activate a Sundial Totem before starting the questline. Using the Sundial Totem is important because several NPCs involved with the quest seem to appear during specific nighttime conditions. After activating the totem, head toward the lighthouse area nearby.
Speak to the Lighthouse NPC
Once you arrive near the lighthouse, you will notice a mysterious NPC standing close to a locked bunker-style door. At first, this NPC does not say much. The game expects players to investigate the nearby town and speak to several hidden residents before the door can open. This is basically the start of the Shady Bazaar investigation quest.
Find the Restless Residents
Your next objective is to talk to several hidden NPCs around the area. Some of them provide clues, while others give important quest items. One of the first useful NPCs gives you the Tarnished Lantern item along with a clue involving light and safety.
You do not need to use the lantern immediately, but keep it in your inventory because it becomes important later during the puzzle section. Some NPCs may not appear instantly, so you may need to keep searching around town during nighttime.
Find the Diver
One of the required NPCs is called the Diver. The Diver can appear near the docks or shoreline area, although players noticed that this NPC sometimes only spawns during certain night cycles.

Find the Watchman

Equip the Required Items
Before speaking to the lighthouse guard again, you need to equip specific items. Make sure you equip:
- Crow Feather Charm
- Barnacle Hook Equipment
Without these items equipped, the next dialogue puzzle may not work properly.
Once equipped, talk to the lighthouse NPC again.
