Unseen Liminality takes a different approach compared to many Roblox horror games. Instead of focusing heavily on puzzles or constant monster encounters, the game revolves around exploration, discovering hidden locations, and finding pathways that lead deeper into its strange liminal worlds.

Since the game is still in beta, many objectives and future mechanics are not fully implemented yet. For now, progression mainly involves navigating each level, managing your resources, avoiding threats, and locating transition points that lead to the next area.

This guide covers all major levels currently available in Unseen Liminality and explains how to progress through each one.

Level 1: The Lobby (Level 0)

The Lobby is the first major area players will encounter. It features endless yellow office hallways, fluorescent lighting, and the classic Backrooms atmosphere many players are familiar with.

As you explore, you will come across several landmarks, including flooded rooms, projector areas, and party-themed sections. These locations can help you determine whether you’re making progress through the maze.

The biggest danger here is The Mimic. This hostile entity can disguise itself as one of your Roblox friends and may even trigger a fake notification claiming they joined your game. If you see a friend suddenly appear in an area where they shouldn’t be, stay alert.

When The Mimic reveals its true shadow form, immediately create distance and use your stamina wisely. Running in a straight line is often enough to escape before it disappears.

To leave The Lobby, continue exploring until you find a transition point. These are often marked by unusual staircases, elevators, glowing areas, or large dark openings that clearly stand out from the surrounding environment.

Hidden Area: Dream Core

While exploring The Lobby, players may also discover Dream Core. This colorful secret area features clouds, bright colors, and a surreal atmosphere that contrasts heavily with the yellow office environment.

Level 2: Terror Hotel (Level 5)

Terror Hotel replaces office spaces with endless hotel hallways, patterned carpets, and abandoned rooms. While it may seem safe at first, this level introduces one of the game’s most important survival mechanics.

Throughout the hotel, players must monitor their sanity. Almond Water and snacks can be found on tables and inside rooms, helping prevent sanity from dropping too low. If your sanity reaches zero, your character dies instantly.

This level is also home to the Moving Mannequins. These strange figures behave similarly to statues that move whenever you are not looking at them.

Fortunately, they currently cannot hurt players. Their purpose is mainly to create tension and block pathways.

When encountering mannequins, keep your camera aimed toward them while moving backward if necessary. This prevents them from advancing and allows you to continue exploring safely.

To complete Terror Hotel, search for staircases, elevators, or large exit corridors that lead away from the main hotel wings.

Level 3: Poolrooms (Level 37)

The Poolrooms is one of the most visually impressive areas in Unseen Liminality. It consists of flooded chambers, white tiles, interconnected pools, and long water-filled pathways.

Navigation becomes much more important here. Players will spend significant time swimming, climbing platforms, and searching for routes hidden beneath the water.

Pay close attention to stairways leading downward, submerged corridors, and elevated ledges that may contain the next path forward.

The primary hazard in this area is the SpongeBob Balloon. Rather than functioning like a traditional monster, it acts as an environmental obstacle that can interfere with movement and exploration.

The Poolrooms is divided into multiple sections. At certain points, players may temporarily return to transition areas before entering deeper portions of the level.

Continue following water pathways and investigate drainage systems, vents, and tunnels whenever possible. These often lead toward the next progression point.

Level 4: Dead Mall

Dead Mall serves as one of the largest and most detailed locations currently available in the game. The area features abandoned storefronts, empty department stores, escalators, and large open shopping areas.

Unlike previous levels, multiple threats can appear here at the same time.

Players may encounter The Mimic, Moving Mannequins, and physics-based hazards such as the Flinging Chair. If furniture begins moving unexpectedly or slides across the floor, it is usually best to leave the area immediately.

Because Dead Mall acts as the current endgame area during the beta period, progression focuses more on exploration than reaching a traditional ending.

Search both upper and lower sections of the mall and investigate maintenance hallways, storage areas, and closed storefronts. Eventually, you will discover the deepest accessible sections of the map, which currently serve as the conclusion of the available gameplay.

Best Tips for Surviving Unseen Liminality

While every level has its own challenges, a few strategies can make exploration much easier.

Learn the Controls

Understanding movement options is extremely important. Sprinting allows you to escape danger quickly, crouching helps you access hidden passages, and zooming can help identify important landmarks from a distance.

Useful controls include:

  • Left Shift: Sprint
  • C: Crouch
  • V: Zoom
  • CTRL: Toggle mouse lock

Manage Your Stamina

Avoid sprinting unnecessarily. Many threats require quick bursts of speed, and running out of stamina at the wrong moment can leave you vulnerable.

Explore Carefully

Most progression points are hidden naturally within the environment rather than clearly marked. Take time to inspect unusual hallways, staircases, and rooms.

Increase Graphics Settings

If your device can handle it, higher graphics settings make navigation easier. Brightly lit hallways often indicate safer routes, while darker sections may hide hazards or Mimic trigger locations.

Unseen Liminality is currently more focused on exploration than traditional horror objectives, which gives players the freedom to uncover its many strange environments at their own pace. From the endless halls of The Lobby to the flooded chambers of the Poolrooms and the abandoned stores of Dead Mall, every level offers unique sights and hidden locations to discover.

As development continues, additional objectives, entities, and mechanics are expected to expand the experience even further. Until then, learning the layout of each level and understanding how its threats work is the best way to survive and reach every area currently available.
