Choosing the right race is an important part of building your character in Haze Seas. Every race comes with passive bonuses that are always active, giving you advantages in combat, movement, stamina management, or exploration. Although every race has its own strengths, some are better suited for PvP, while others shine when farming bosses or traveling across the seas.

Later in the game, you can upgrade your race to Race V2, which improves your existing passive abilities and, for certain races, unlocks completely new effects. In this guide, you’ll find every race in Haze Seas, their V1 and V2 bonuses, how to unlock Race V2, and which race is worth using.

How Races Work in Haze Seas

When you first create a character, you’ll automatically receive a random Race V1. Unlike active skills, race abilities are passive, meaning they are always in effect without needing to be activated. As you progress into the late game, you’ll gain access to Race V2. This upgraded version enhances your race’s existing bonuses and may also provide additional abilities that improve combat or exploration. Since each race offers different advantages, your ideal choice depends on your preferred playstyle.

Human Race

The Human race is designed around mobility, allowing players to move faster whenever their health drops below a certain point. This makes it useful during long fights where repositioning quickly can help you survive.

Human Race V1

  • Gain 25% increased movement speed when your HP falls below 70%.

Human Race V2

  • Gain 50% increased movement speed when your HP is below 70%.
  • Receive one additional Observation Haki dodge.

Players who enjoy PvP or fast-paced combat may find Human to be one of the better mobility-focused races.

Beastborne Race

Beastborne focuses on speed and stamina, making it a solid option for players who constantly dash, combo enemies, and travel between islands.

Beastborne V1

  • 20% faster movement speed.
  • 5% additional stamina.

Beastborne V2

  • 50% faster movement speed.
  • 10% additional stamina.

The extra stamina allows you to use abilities more frequently while maintaining excellent mobility.

Skyborne Race

Skyborne is built for players who spend plenty of time moving through the air. Its bonuses improve Sky Walk and make exploring vertical areas much easier.

Skyborne V1

  • Your first Sky Walk jump is 50% stronger.

Skyborne V2

  • Unlock Glide by holding the jump button.
  • Fall much more slowly while gliding.
  • Your first Sky Walk becomes twice as powerful.

If you frequently travel between islands or explore high locations, Skyborne is one of the most convenient races.

Fishborne Race

Fishborne completely changes how your character interacts with water. Instead of treating the ocean as a major obstacle, this race allows you to move through it much more efficiently.

Fishborne V1

  • Swim 50% faster.

Fishborne V2

  • Swim speed is doubled.
  • Gain double movement speed for four seconds after leaving the water.
  • Devil Fruit users no longer take damage while swimming.

Fishborne is one of the best races for players who participate in Sea Events or spend a lot of time sailing between islands.

Demon Race

The Demon race specializes in staying alive during combat by restoring health whenever you deal damage.

Demon V1

  • Gain 2.5% Life Steal.

Demon V2

  • Increase Life Steal to 3%.
  • Dashing has a 10% chance to create a Hellfire Circle that damages nearby enemies.

This combination of passive healing and bonus damage makes Demon a reliable choice for both grinding and PvP battles.

Dragonborne Race

Dragonborne offers one of the most balanced sets of bonuses in the game by improving both survivability and mobility.

Dragonborne V1

  • 10% more maximum Health.
  • 10% faster Health regeneration.
  • Your first Sky Walk is 25% stronger.

Dragonborne V2

  • Gain an additional 10% maximum Health.
  • Unlock the Glide ability for slower falls.

Because it boosts both defense and movement, Dragonborne is often considered one of the strongest all-around races.

D. Clan Race

The D. Clan race provides balanced stat increases while improving the effectiveness of Conqueror’s abilities.

D. Clan V1

  • 5% more Health.
  • 5% more Stamina.
  • Unlock Conqueror’s ability, which normally consumes 250 stamina.

D. Clan V2

  • 10% more Health.
  • 10% more Stamina.
  • Reduce Conqueror’s stamina cost by 50, lowering it to 200 stamina.

Players who regularly use Conqueror’s Haki will benefit the most from choosing D. Clan.

How to Unlock Race V2

Race V2 becomes available after reaching Level 2200. Once you’ve reached the requirement, visit the Race Engineer NPC to begin the upgrade quest.

You’ll need to complete several objectives before your race can evolve.

Race V2 Quest Requirements

  • Reach Level 2200.
  • Defeat one Sea Beast.
  • Collect 50 Chests.
  • Defeat the Zenith Boss.

After completing every objective, return to the Race Engineer and pay:

  • 1,000,000 Beli
  • 100 Gems

Your current race will then be upgraded to Race V2.

If you decide to change races later, you’ll need to complete the same questline again to unlock that race’s V2 version.

Which Race Is the Best in Haze Seas?

There isn’t a single race that’s perfect for everyone, as each one is designed for a different type of player.

  • Dragonborne is one of the best all-around races thanks to its extra Health, regeneration, and mobility.
  • D. Clan is an excellent choice for players who frequently rely on Conqueror’s abilities.
  • Fishborne is ideal for exploring the ocean and completing Sea Events.
  • Demon is a strong option for players who want passive healing during battles.
  • Skyborne excels at aerial movement and traveling across the map.
  • Beastborne offers excellent speed and stamina for active combat.
  • Human is a solid PvP race thanks to its movement speed boost and additional Observation dodge.

Ultimately, the best race depends on how you prefer to play rather than simply choosing the strongest passive. Races provide valuable passive bonuses throughout your entire adventure in Haze Seas. Even the basic Race V1 effects can make combat and exploration much easier, while Race V2 upgrades significantly improve your character with stronger buffs and, in some cases, completely new abilities.

Once you reach Level 2200, unlocking Race V2 should be one of your highest priorities. The upgrade requires some grinding, but the improved movement, survivability, and combat performance are well worth the effort, especially if you’re preparing for late-game bosses, Sea Events, and PvP encounters.
