The latest Catch and Tame update introduces the Mad Scientist Laboratory, bringing a brand-new game mode, dozens of mutated pets, exclusive rewards, and two powerful Divine creatures to collect. Unlike previous updates, this one focuses on sneaking through a dangerous laboratory while avoiding a roaming Mad Scientist. If you’re wondering how the Laboratory works or how to unlock the new pets, this guide covers everything added in the Mad Scientist update.

How to Enter the Laboratory

The Laboratory can be found on Tropical Island, near the entrance to the Backrooms. Unlike the Backrooms, you don’t need any special tickets to enter. Simply travel to Tropical Island and walk into the Laboratory entrance whenever you want to start collecting pets.

Before heading inside, don’t forget to purchase the available Lab Upgrades. These upgrades improve your performance during Laboratory runs and make escaping much easier. Inside the Laboratory, your goal is simple:

  • Explore the map.
  • Pick up as many pets as possible.
  • Escape without getting caught.

The biggest threat is the Mad Scientist, who constantly patrols the area. If he catches you before you leave, you’ll lose every pet you’re carrying. There are also hazardous slime puddles scattered throughout the Laboratory. Walking into one has the same result—you’ll immediately lose your collected pets. Fortunately, you’re not limited to carrying just one pet. You can stack multiple pets during a single run before heading back to safety, making each trip much more rewarding.

Laboratory Spawn Timers

The Laboratory features guaranteed rare pet appearances throughout the day. Current spawn schedule includes:

  • Divine Pets: Every hour
  • Mythical Pets: Approximately every 15 to 30 minutes

If you’re hunting the rarest creatures, it’s worth checking the Laboratory around these spawn windows to improve your chances.

Two New Divine Pets

Catch and Tame Mad Scientist Update Guide – Laboratory, New Divines, Pets & Rewards

The Mad Scientist update introduces two brand-new Divine pets.

  • Hamster Bear The first Divine is the Hamster Bear, a giant mutated hamster with bear-like features. It’s one of the largest pets introduced in the update and offers impressive income compared to standard Laboratory pets.
  • Tentacle Leviathan The second Divine is the Tentacle Leviathan. This massive creature combines features from a shark, leviathan, and octopus into one terrifying pet. Thanks to its unique design and rarity, it’s already becoming one of the most sought-after Divines in Catch and Tame.

19 New Laboratory Pets

Besides the Divine pets, the Laboratory also adds 19 brand-new mutated creatures. These pets are based on existing animals but have been transformed through strange scientific experiments. Some examples include:

  • Octo Dog
  • Mutated Cat
  • Experimental Llama
  • Various laboratory-themed creatures

Every Laboratory run gives you another opportunity to expand your collection.

New Eggs Added

Several new eggs are available with this update, including:

  • Experiment Egg
  • Flower Egg
  • Diamond Admin Egg (available through Admin-related content)

The Diamond Admin Egg contains exclusive diamond-themed versions of existing pets, giving collectors even more rare creatures to obtain.

New Laboratory Spin Wheel

The update also adds a brand-new Laboratory Spin Wheel. By spinning the wheel, players can earn several exclusive rewards, including:

  • Test Tube Snail (Secret Pet)
  • Diamond Admin Egg
  • Various Laboratory-themed prizes

The Test Tube Snail is the wheel’s secret reward and features a broken laboratory test tube as its shell.

New Secret Pet

Another collectible introduced in this update is the Admin Vault. Like previous Vault pets, this version is significantly larger and designed around the Laboratory theme. Players who enjoy collecting secret pets will definitely want to add it to their collection.

Redeem the New Code

The update also includes a brand-new redeem code:

  • Code: laboratory

Redeeming the code rewards players with Mushrooms, a new food item introduced alongside the update.

Mushrooms can be fed to pets to apply the new Mushroom Mutation, increasing their value while giving them a unique appearance.

Mushroom Weather Event

A completely new weather effect has also been added. During Mushroom Weather, players receive:

  • 125% Luck
  • Chance to obtain Mushroom Mutated pets

Large mushrooms also appear around the world, acting as giant bounce pads that launch players high into the air. Besides looking unique, this makes exploring the map much more fun while the weather is active.

New Index Rewards

Completing your Laboratory collection also unlocks several useful decoration rewards through the Index. These aren’t just cosmetic items either. New rewards include:

  • Bounce Pad – Launches players upward.
  • Speed Pad – Temporarily increases movement speed.
  • Teleport Pad – Instantly transports players between linked locations.

These decorations add useful movement options to your base instead of simply changing its appearance.

Tips for Farming the Laboratory

If you want to collect pets efficiently, keep these tips in mind:

  • Purchase every available Lab Upgrade before farming.
  • Grab multiple pets before leaving to maximize each run.
  • Stay away from slime hazards.
  • Watch the Mad Scientist’s patrol path before moving.
  • Visit the Laboratory around Divine spawn times for better chances at rare pets.
  • Take advantage of Mushroom Weather for increased luck and exclusive mutations.

The Mad Scientist update is one of the biggest content expansions Catch and Tame has received so far. The new Laboratory offers a completely different gameplay experience compared to previous areas, while the addition of mutated pets, hourly Divine spawns, exclusive rewards, and Mushroom Weather gives players plenty of reasons to keep farming.

Whether you’re chasing the Hamster Bear, hoping to catch the Tentacle Leviathan, or simply trying to complete the Laboratory Index, this update offers plenty of new content for both collectors and long-time players.
