The latest Rogue Piece Rebirth update introduces Rukia and her long-awaited Bankai, marking the first major content release from the game’s new development team. Alongside the new mythical weapon comes an extensive questline that requires players to defeat bosses, collect materials, and complete several combat challenges before unlocking Rukia’s full potential.

How to Start the Rukia Questline
To begin the quest, travel to Soul Society. You can reach the area by heading to Hueco Mundo and entering the portal that leads to Soul Society. Once you arrive, speak with the Rukia Week NPC. Although the NPC currently doesn’t use Rukia’s character model, interacting with them will start the first quest.
Your initial objective is straightforward:
- Defeat 10 Hollows.
- Repeat the quest until you obtain a Hollow Soul.
The Hollow Soul isn’t guaranteed to drop, so you may need to complete this quest multiple times before moving on. Once you receive the Hollow Soul, speak with the nearby Rukia Kuchiki NPC to begin the main progression quest.
How to Unlock Rukia’s Blade
Unlocking Rukia’s weapon requires completing several objectives across multiple islands and bosses. You’ll need to finish the following tasks:
- Obtain a Soul Reaper Badge from the Aizen Boss.
- Collect 5 Ice Shards.
- Defeat 200 Hollows.
- Defeat the Weak Rukia Boss using Zangetsu.
- Defeat the Aizen Boss 15 times.
- Eliminate 2,500 enemies using Zangetsu.
- Defeat the Rukia Bankai Boss.
After completing every objective, you’ll receive Rukia’s Blade, a new Mythical weapon.
How to Unlock Rukia Bankai
Receiving Rukia’s Blade isn’t the end of the progression. To unlock the weapon’s fourth ability—its Bankai—you’ll need to complete another series of quests. Return to Soul Society and speak with the Ice Queen NPC to begin the Bankai objectives. The Bankai questline includes several additional challenges.
You’ll need to complete the following:
- Consume 100 Ice. Ice can be obtained from Mohawk at Glacier Island, making this portion of the quest considerably easier than some of the combat-focused objectives.
- Defeat the Aizen Boss 25 times using Rukia’s Blade.
- Use Rukia’s abilities 250 times.
- Collect Freezing Shards from the Rukia Boss.
After completing every requirement, the weapon’s final V Skill becomes available, officially unlocking Rukia Bankai.
Rukia and her Bankai introduce a lengthy but straightforward progression path that includes farming Hollows, defeating Aizen multiple times, collecting Ice Shards, and completing several combat challenges before unlocking the weapon’s full potential. While the grind is significant, experienced players can steadily complete each objective with efficient farming routes and the right equipment.
Whether Rukia Bankai is worth the effort ultimately depends on your expectations. Completionists and Bleach fans will likely appreciate adding another Mythical weapon to their collection, while competitive players may prefer to wait for future updates if they’re looking for a more refined combat experience. As the new development team continues supporting Rogue Piece Rebirth, there’s a good chance Rukia’s abilities and overall presentation will improve in upcoming patches.
