Stats are one of the most important mechanics in Anime Expeditions, often making the difference between an average Unit and one that can easily clear difficult stages. While Traits, Evolutions, and Equipment all contribute to a Unit’s power, your stat rolls determine how effective that character is in combat.

Understanding what each stat does will help you decide which Units deserve your Stat Rerolls and which stat combinations are worth keeping. Here’s a complete breakdown of every stat in Anime Expeditions and how each one affects gameplay.

Damage

Damage determines how much health your Unit removes from enemies every time it attacks. It is the most straightforward stat in the game and directly influences your overall DPS (Damage Per Second). Higher Damage allows your Unit to:

  • Defeat enemies much faster.
  • Handle high-health bosses more efficiently.
  • Clear enemy waves before they overwhelm your defenses.
  • Scale better into harder game modes.

Since nearly every Unit benefits from additional damage, this is generally considered one of the best stats to improve. High Damage rolls become especially valuable for Units that already attack quickly.

Range

Range controls how far a Unit can attack enemies from its placement location. A higher Range stat increases the attack radius, allowing your Unit to cover more of the battlefield. Increasing Range provides several advantages:

  • Targets enemies sooner.
  • Covers multiple path intersections.
  • Attacks enemies for a longer duration before they leave range.
  • Reduces the need to reposition your team.

Support Units and characters with powerful area attacks benefit particularly well from high Range because they can affect a much larger portion of the map.

SPA (Seconds Per Attack)

SPA stands for Seconds Per Attack and determines how long a Unit waits before launching another attack. Unlike Damage and Range, lower SPA values are better. For example:

  • 5.0 SPA = One attack every five seconds.
  • 3.0 SPA = One attack every three seconds.
  • 2.0 SPA = Much faster attack speed.

A lower SPA means your Unit attacks more frequently, greatly increasing its overall damage output during a battle. Because of this, the highest stat grades actually reduce SPA instead of increasing it.

How Stat Grades Affect Your Unit

Every stat rolls independently and receives its own grade. This means one Unit can have excellent Damage but average Range, while another might have incredible attack speed but lower Damage. The available grades are:

  • Z (Best)
  • SSS
  • SS
  • S
  • A+
  • A
  • A-
  • B+
  • B
  • B-
  • C+
  • C
  • C-
  • F (Worst)

Higher grades provide larger bonuses, while lower grades may even reduce a Unit’s effectiveness.

Because each stat is rolled separately, finding a Unit with multiple high-tier grades is extremely rare.

Which Stat Is Most Important?

There isn’t a single “best” stat for every Unit since their roles vary, but some stats are generally more valuable than others.

Damage

Damage is usually the safest stat to prioritize because every offensive Unit benefits from stronger attacks. Higher Damage also scales well with Traits, Evolutions, and Equipment.

SPA

SPA is arguably just as important as Damage. Since faster attacks increase a Unit’s damage over time, many players value excellent SPA rolls just as highly as raw Damage.

Range

Range is slightly more situational but still extremely useful. A Unit that can attack earlier and stay engaged longer often contributes more throughout an entire wave, especially on larger maps.

Why High Stat Grades Matter

Although the percentage differences between grades may appear small, they add up significantly after combining them with other progression systems.

A Unit with:

  • High Damage
  • Reduced SPA
  • Increased Range

will often outperform another copy of the exact same Unit with average stat rolls.

This becomes even more noticeable during late-game content, where maximizing every source of power is essential.

Can You Improve Stats?

Yes. Anime Expeditions includes two systems for optimizing your Units.

Stat Rerolls

Stat Rerolls completely regenerate a Unit’s Damage, Range, and SPA values. Every reroll is random, so you may receive either better or worse grades.

This system is best used on Units you plan to keep for a long time.

Stat Transfer

Stat Transfer lets you move excellent stat rolls from one Unit onto another.

Instead of discarding an older Unit with amazing stats, you can transfer those rolls to a stronger Unit or an evolved version for a Gold cost. This is one of the most efficient ways to preserve rare stat combinations.

The Stat system in Anime Expeditions adds an extra layer of progression beyond simply collecting powerful Units. While summoning rare characters is important, optimizing their Damage, Range, and SPA can dramatically improve their performance in every game mode.

Whether you’re using Stat Rerolls to chase better grades or Stat Transfers to preserve outstanding rolls, understanding how each stat works will help you build a stronger team and prepare for the game’s toughest challenges.
