How to Get the Crowbar Rod in Fisch (Doug Quest Guide)
The Crowbar Rod is one of the newest fishing rods added to Fisch, and unlike many powerful rods that require a hefty amount of in-game currency, this one is completely free. Instead of buying it, you’ll need to complete Doug’s Great Heist, a multi-part questline that involves catching rare fish, collecting gemstones, and retrieving special materials.
Although the quest takes some time to finish, the reward is well worth the effort. The Crowbar Rod offers excellent Luck, fast Lure Speed, and exclusive mutation bonuses that make it a strong choice for players looking to farm valuable catches. Here’s everything you need to know to unlock it.
Where to Find Doug in Fisch
Before you can start working toward the Crowbar Rod, you’ll first need to locate Doug. Doug can be found near Rosecliff Bay on the same elevated platform where the Scientist NPC is located. After reaching the platform, look for a character wearing a black mask.
Speaking with him will begin Doug’s Great Heist, which consists of several objectives that must all be completed before the rod is awarded. Once you’ve accepted the questline, you can begin gathering the required materials in any order.
All Doug’s Great Heist Quests
Doug’s questline contains several collection tasks that require both fishing and gemstone hunting. Every objective must be completed before receiving the Crowbar Rod.
1. Catch a Glass Diamond
Your first task is obtaining a Glass Diamond, a Mythical fish. Glass Diamond can be caught in the following locations:
- Overgrowth Caves
- Frigid Cavern
- Northern Summit Surrounding Ocean
Since it’s a Mythical catch, your chances improve significantly whenever Aurora Borealis weather is active. Using rods with high Luck will also make this objective much easier.
2. Find an Opal
Doug’s next request is a single Opal gemstone. You can obtain Opal primarily from Meteors found around Ancient Isle. It has a relatively low appearance rate, so you may need to search through multiple meteor events before finding one. There’s also a very small chance to receive an Opal from your Personal Aquarium, making it a possible passive source if you’ve already unlocked that feature.
3. Collect a Ruby
After delivering the Opal, Doug will ask for one Ruby. Like Opal, Ruby is obtained from Ancient Isle Meteors, although it appears more frequently. Players with a Personal Aquarium also have a small chance of receiving one over time.
4. Gather Three Amethysts
The fourth quest requires a total of three Amethysts. Amethyst is another gemstone that drops from meteor events at Ancient Isle and is considerably more common than both Opal and Ruby. If you’re farming meteors for earlier objectives, you’ll likely collect several Amethysts naturally before finishing the previous quests. Personal Aquariums can also occasionally produce Amethysts, although meteor farming remains the fastest method.
5. Bring Back Gravitas Scrap Metal
The final objective is collecting two Gravitas Scrap Metal. To complete this step:
- Equip the Olympian Godbreaker Rod.
- Fish during the daytime.
- Catch Scrap Metal at any fishing location.
- Deliver two Gravitas Scrap Metal to Doug.
Once this final requirement is complete, the questline comes to an end.
How to Claim the Crowbar Rod
After completing every stage of Doug’s Great Heist, return to Doug at Rosecliff Bay. Unlike many other rods, there’s no crafting recipe or purchase required afterward. Simply talk to Doug once all objectives have been completed, and he’ll immediately reward you with the Crowbar Rod.
Crowbar Rod Stats
The Crowbar Rod comes with surprisingly powerful attributes despite being completely free.
- Lure Speed: 85%
- Luck: 245%
- Control: 0.15
- Resilience: 35%
- Line Distance: 200 meters
- Contraband Mutation Chance: 50% (9.088× value multiplier)
- Counterfeit Mutation Chance: 10% (8× value multiplier)
These stats make it one of the strongest free rods currently available, especially for players interested in farming high-value catches.
What Makes the Crowbar Rod So Good?
The biggest strength of the Crowbar Rod is its combination of high Luck and valuable mutation bonuses. A 245% Luck stat greatly increases your chances of landing rarer fish, while the 85% Lure Speed helps reduce the time spent waiting for bites. Together, these stats create an efficient rod for long farming sessions.
The standout feature, however, is the Contraband Mutation. With a massive 50% activation chance and a 9.088× value multiplier, many of your catches can become dramatically more valuable when sold. Although the Counterfeit Mutation activates less often, its 8× multiplier still provides a substantial boost whenever it appears.
The Crowbar Rod is one of the best free rewards currently available in Fisch. While Doug’s Great Heist requires players to gather rare fish, gemstones, and special materials, the finished rod delivers impressive performance without costing a single coin. If you’ve already reached the point where you can farm Ancient Isle meteors and collect the required fishing materials, completing Doug’s questline should be one of your top priorities. Its high Luck, excellent Lure Speed, and powerful mutation effects make the Crowbar Rod a valuable addition to almost any fishing setup.
