Thanos Rockfruit Guide, How to Get & Thanos Snap
Thanos is one of the main additions from the latest Rockfruit update, and getting this spec requires quite a bit of farming. Unlike a normal character or fighting style, you need to collect the required Infinity Stones and craft the Thanos Gauntlet before the Thanos NPC will unlock the spec. The good news is that most of the materials come from activities you can farm while progressing through the game. This guide explains the full Thanos obtainment process, including where to find the NPC, how to craft the Gauntlet, and how to get the Infinity Stones.
Where to Find Thanos in Rockfruit
The Thanos NPC is located on Starter Island. You can find him near the Dungeon NPC, making the location fairly easy to reach if you have already unlocked access to the dungeon system. However, talking to the NPC alone is not enough to obtain Thanos.
You first need to prepare two important parts of the requirement: the Infinity Stones and the Gauntlet. It is best to start collecting the required materials before visiting the NPC so you can unlock Thanos immediately once everything is ready.
How to Get the Thanos Gauntlet
The first major requirement is the Thanos Gauntlet. You can craft it at the Crafting Station, but several materials are needed before the recipe can be completed. The Gauntlet requires:
- Holy Gold
- Hammer
Holy Gold is obtained through Chest Gacha. This means you will need to spend some time opening chests until you have enough of the required material. The Hammer is also a crafted item, so you need to make it separately before you can finish the Gauntlet.
How to Craft the Hammer
The Hammer requires three main materials:
- Iron
- Old Wood
- Elephant Glue
Iron and Old Wood can be obtained from Chest Gacha. Elephant Glue has a different source and can be obtained from dungeons or purchased through the Dungeon Shop.
Because of this, you will need to use both the Chest Gacha and dungeon systems while preparing for Thanos. If you already have materials saved in your inventory, check your stock first because you may be closer to completing the Gauntlet than expected.
Once you have the required Hammer materials, craft the Hammer and then use it together with Holy Gold at the Crafting Station to create the Thanos Gauntlet.
How to Get the Infinity Stones
The other major requirement for Thanos is collecting the Infinity Stones. In this Rockfruit update, the stones can be obtained through the event Gacha Shop.
Each Infinity Stone costs 150 event points when purchased directly from the shop. This gives you a more reliable way to collect the stones because you can work toward a specific amount of event currency instead of depending entirely on random drops.
There is also a Gacha option if you want to test your luck. However, players who want a predictable route should focus on farming enough event currency to purchase the stones directly.
How to Farm Event Currency Faster
The event dungeon is the main place to focus on if you need more currency for the Infinity Stones. One of the better strategies is to run the dungeon with multiple players.
A group makes it easier to survive and reach higher waves. Higher waves are important because they provide a better way to build up your event currency compared with repeatedly stopping at the early stages.
Try to prioritize reaching as high a wave as your team can consistently handle. This can make the Infinity Stone grind much less painful, especially if you still need several stones.
How to Unlock Thanos
Once you have collected the required Infinity Stones and crafted the Thanos Gauntlet, return to Starter Island.
Go to the Thanos NPC located near the Dungeon NPC and interact with him. With the required items in your inventory, you can complete the exchange and unlock the Thanos spec.
After unlocking it, you can start testing its five-move moveset. Thanos is more than a cosmetic or joke spec, as several of its abilities have useful effects during combat.
How Does Thanos Snap Work?
The most interesting part of the Thanos moveset is the F ability, which is the Snap. You cannot simply activate it whenever you want and instantly defeat an enemy. First, you need to reduce the target’s health to around 50% of its original HP. After the enemy is sufficiently weakened, activate the F move.
Immediately follow it with the V move and make sure the target is inside the V move’s range. If the timing and positioning are correct, the Snap can instantly finish the boss or mob. This ability is especially useful for farming because it can remove the final portion of an enemy’s health without requiring a long finishing combo.
Some bosses have invincibility frames that can interfere with the setup, so you need to watch their animations and time the Snap carefully.
Is Thanos Worth Getting?
Rock Fruit Thanos is worth farming if you want a powerful and unusual spec with a unique finishing mechanic. The biggest attraction is the Snap, which can one-shot a weakened enemy when used correctly. The main downside is the amount of farming involved. You need event currency for the Infinity Stones, while the Gauntlet requires Chest Gacha materials and dungeon rewards. Fortunately, these activities can be combined, allowing you to work on several requirements at the same time.
For the fastest route, start by farming the event dungeon with other players for currency. At the same time, open Chest Gacha for Holy Gold, Iron, and Old Wood, and collect Elephant Glue from dungeons or the Dungeon Shop. Once the Infinity Stones and Gauntlet are ready, head back to Starter Island and unlock Thanos from the NPC near the Dungeon NPC.
