Typhoeus is the newest six-star operator added to Arknights: Endfield. She is a Nature DPS character who uses a huge bow and focuses on Nature Burst damage. Her playstyle is a little more complicated than some other DPS characters because you need to manage Hunting Arrows, Signs, Nature Inflictions, and her Hover state.

The good thing is that Typhoeus can deal very high damage when her resources are used correctly. She is especially strong against two targets or groups of enemies that are spread apart. Her attacks have long range and can hit two targets, giving her more flexibility than many other DPS characters. This guide covers Typhoeus’ skills, gear, weapon choices, potentials, team options, and some useful tips for getting the most out of her.

How Typhoeus’ Nature Burst Works

Before looking at Typhoeus’ skills, it is important to understand Nature Burst. When Nature is applied to an enemy that already has a Nature Infliction, a Nature Burst is triggered. Nature Burst has a fixed 160% damage multiplier. Its damage also benefits from Arts Intensity and other damage bonuses.

This mechanic is a major part of Typhoeus’ damage because many of her attacks can consume Nature Inflictions and trigger additional Nature Burst damage. Because of this, Typhoeus needs teammates that can consistently apply Nature to enemies. Without a good Nature applier, it becomes much harder for her to reach her full damage potential.

Typhoeus’ Battle Skill

Typhoeus’ Battle Skill is called Piercing Arrows of the Woods. It costs 100 Skill Points and puts Typhoeus into her Hover state. While hovering, she can perform four aerial basic attacks followed by a final strike. This gives her five attacks in total, and the aerial attacks can hit up to two targets.

Typhoeus also has Hunting Arrows. She can hold up to four at a time. During her Hover state, each aerial basic attack consumes one Hunting Arrow and turns that attack into a Power Shot. Power Shots deal around 1.66 times the normal damage and force a Nature Burst. This makes Hunting Arrows very important for her damage.

Her aerial attacks can also consume a Nature Infliction from an enemy. When this happens, Typhoeus gains one Sign and receives 12 Ultimate Energy. Power Shots become even stronger when they consume a Nature stack. The resulting Nature Burst receives an additional damage multiplier.

The final attack of her Hover sequence is always treated as a Power Shot, even if she has no Hunting Arrows left. It also recovers Skill Points and deals Stagger damage.

Typhoeus’ Combo Skill

Typhoeus’ Combo Skill is Rampant Thorns.

You activate this skill after collecting eight Signs. When used, it slows enemies and increases Nature Burst damage by around 10% for roughly six seconds.

The eight Signs are then converted into four Hunting Arrows.

This skill also resets Typhoeus’ aerial attack sequence if she is already hovering. That means you can continue her Hover attacks without spending another 100 Skill Points or using her Ultimate to enter Hover again.

The main downside is the skill’s long cooldown of around 19 seconds, so it should be used carefully.

Typhoeus’ Ultimate

Typhoeus’ Ultimate is Call of Ice Mountain.

The Ultimate starts with an explosion, then gives Typhoeus two Hunting Arrows. Her next five Hover attacks also receive extra attacks from a hail of arrows, with the fifth attack dealing more damage.

Altogether, the Ultimate provides around an 800% additional multiplier.

It can also put Typhoeus into Hover state. If she is already hovering, it resets her aerial attack sequence instead.

However, the Ultimate requires 200 Ultimate Energy. Because of this high cost, you should not always force it into every rotation.

Typhoeus can generate more Ultimate Energy by consuming Nature Inflictions with her aerial attacks. She can generate Energy much faster when several enemies are available because she has more Nature stacks to consume.

How to Manage Signs and Hunting Arrows

Typhoeus has two main resources to manage: Signs and Hunting Arrows.

She can gain Signs when her aerial attacks consume Nature Inflictions. She can also gain Signs whenever a Nature Burst happens.

This second method is important because Nature Burst triggered by her teammates can also generate Signs for Typhoeus. Her own Power Shots can generate Signs as well because they force a Nature Burst.

For example, if Typhoeus uses a Power Shot against an enemy that already has Nature, she can gain two Signs from the same attack. One comes from consuming the Nature stack, while another comes from triggering Nature Burst.

Hunting Arrows are easier to understand. Her Combo Skill converts eight Signs into four Hunting Arrows, while her Ultimate gives her two more.

Since Typhoeus can only hold four Hunting Arrows, avoid using her Combo Skill or Ultimate while she is already sitting at the maximum amount whenever possible.

A good general approach is to spend your arrows first, then use the Combo Skill or Ultimate to refill them.

Best Typhoeus Rotation Tips

Typhoeus has several possible rotations, so there is no single rotation that will work perfectly in every situation.

• The most important thing is to avoid wasting Hunting Arrows.
• Try to use Power Shots against enemies that already have Nature Infliction. This lets Typhoeus consume the Nature stack while also triggering Nature Burst.
• Using her Combo Skill at the right time is also important because it increases Nature Burst damage. Ideally, use it before or during your main damage window.
• Her Ultimate gives two Hunting Arrows, so try to spend your existing arrows before using it. This prevents you from wasting the extra arrows.
• You can also let teammates apply additional Nature while Typhoeus is attacking. This gives her more opportunities to consume Nature Inflictions and trigger Nature Burst.

The exact rotation can change depending on the number of enemies, available Skill Points, Nature stacks, and your teammates’ cooldowns. Learning how to adapt is more important than following one rotation perfectly.

Is Typhoeus’ Ultimate Always Necessary?

Not really.

In single-target situations, it may not be worth forcing Typhoeus to generate enough Ultimate Energy just to use her Ultimate. Instead, you can sometimes get better team damage by focusing on other sources of damage, especially during a Stun window. A stronger Corrosion setup can provide more value than spending time trying to charge Typhoeus’ Ultimate.

Things change when multiple enemies are present. With two or more targets, Typhoeus can consume more Nature stacks and generate Ultimate Energy much faster. This makes her Ultimate easier to access. This is one of the reasons Typhoeus performs so well against multiple enemies.

Typhoeus Talent Priority

For Typhoeus’ talents, the main priority should be her Battle Skill and Combo Skill.

Most of her damage comes from Nature Burst, so her Normal Attacks and Ultimate are not quite as important to maximize first.

You can still upgrade them later when you have enough materials. However, if resources are limited, focus on her Battle Skill and Combo Skill first.

Best Gear for Typhoeus

Building Typhoeus’ gear is fairly simple. The recommended setup uses the Deep Rampart set:

• Deep Rampart Armor
• Deep Rampart Gauntlets
• Deep Rampart Coms
• Link Slab

This set works well across most situations and gives Typhoeus the stats she needs for her DPS role. There are alternative builds that focus more on Ultimate Energy gain and other stats. These can be useful if you want to make her Ultimate available more often. However, the standard Deep Rampart setup is a good starting point for most Typhoeus players.

Best Weapon for Typhoeus

Typhoeus’ signature Arts Unit, Umbra of Frigid Eventide, is her best weapon option.

The value of the signature weapon can change depending on which teammates and weapons you use.

For example, when paired with Lo and Lo’s signature weapon, Typhoeus’ signature weapon is reported to be around 17% better than a fully refined Battle Pass weapon, Suffering’s End. Compared with an unrefined Suffering’s End, the difference can reach around 23% for team DPS.

However, the signature weapon becomes even more valuable if you do not use Lo and her signature weapon.

Without Lo’s buffs and weapon effects, Typhoeus can miss a large amount of Attack, making her signature weapon much more important. In this situation, it can be around 26% better than a fully refined Suffering’s End.

So, if you are planning to invest heavily into Typhoeus, her signature weapon is worth considering.

Typhoeus Potentials

Typhoeus has several useful Potentials.

Her first Potential gives her more Attack, increases Basic Attack damage, and improves her survivability. This is considered one of her better early Potentials, especially if your build does not already have excessive Attack.

Her second Potential provides Agility and Arts Intensity.

The third reduces the cooldown of her Combo Skill and improves its debuff.

The fourth lowers her Ultimate Energy requirement.

Her fifth improves Ultimate damage and Nature Burst damage.

Overall, Typhoeus has strong Potentials, but they are not so powerful that you absolutely need duplicates. For most players, getting the base character and building her properly should be more important than chasing additional copies.

Best Typhoeus Teams

Typhoeus needs teammates that can apply Nature and help create Nature Burst opportunities. Because of this, her team options are strongly connected to which characters you already own.

Typhoeus, Arcane, Lo, and Ardellia

This is one of Typhoeus’ stronger team setups.

• Arcane can provide a large amount of Nature application, while Lo and Ardellia provide useful buffs and additional support.
• Ardellia is especially helpful because she can apply Corrosion, which also helps activate Lo’s Combo Skill.
• For Arcane, a Will-focused build is recommended so she can stay in her support mode and provide her buffs.

Typhoeus, Arcane, Lo, and Pearlica

Pearlica can replace Ardellia in another strong variation.

• She applies Electrification, which helps activate Lo’s Combo Skill while also increasing Typhoeus’ damage.
• The main difference is the area of application. Pearlica generally applies Electrification to a more limited target area, while Ardellia can provide wider Corrosion application.
• Both options can work, so the choice depends on your roster and the content you are fighting.

Typhoeus, Arcane, Gilberta, and Pearlica or Ardellia

Gilberta can be used when you have Arcane but do not have Lo.

• Pearlica or Ardellia can help trigger Gilberta’s Combo Skill by providing an Arts reaction.
• The problem is consistency after the first rotation. It can become difficult to repeatedly create the Arts reactions needed to activate both Gilberta’s and Lo’s Combo Skills.
• Because of this, this setup can be particularly useful for an opening burst or nuke rotation rather than long fights where you need constant rotations.

More Free-to-Play Friendly Team

Players without Lo or Gilberta can try a more accessible setup using:

• Fluorite
• Zahhee
• Typhoeus

This team is not as strong as the premium options, but it can still function. You can also experiment with different Nature application options depending on your available characters. Once Penna becomes available in the second half of the patch, she can also be considered for a more accessible Typhoeus team.

Typhoeus in Single-Target Content

Typhoeus is capable of dealing impressive single-target damage.

During a strong burst window, individual shots can reach very high numbers with a properly built team. The showcase testing showed individual attacks reaching around 300,000 damage under the right conditions.

However, single-target damage is not necessarily where Typhoeus has her biggest advantage.

Her mechanics allow her to attack up to two targets with her aerial attacks. This means she can maintain strong damage against two enemies without losing as much value as some other DPS characters.

Typhoeus in Multi-Target Content

This is where Typhoeus really stands out.

Her aerial attacks can hit two targets, and her range lets her attack enemies even when they are positioned far apart.

This is especially useful in content where several stronger enemies appear at the same time.

Instead of needing enemies to stand close together for an AoE attack, Typhoeus can often reach two separate targets with her attacks.

She also generates more Ultimate Energy when she has multiple Nature-inflicted targets to work with.

Because of this, two-target encounters can be one of her best situations.

Using Corrosion With Typhoeus

Typhoeus can also benefit heavily from a properly prepared Corrosion setup.

One approach is to spend time building the required Arts Inflictions before triggering a Level 4 Corrosion. Once the reaction is ready, Typhoeus can use her burst window to take advantage of the large damage multiplier.

This setup can work particularly well when you have enough time to prepare your resources before the main damage phase.

You can also use different elemental setups depending on your team. For example, a Zahhee-based team can provide another way to prepare the reaction.

An important point is that Typhoeus does not always need her Ultimate to perform this burst rotation. This gives her some flexibility compared with characters that depend heavily on their Ultimate for their main damage window.

Typhoeus is an interesting Nature DPS with a unique playstyle in Arknights: Endfield. She has a lot of mechanics to manage, but her high damage and long-range attacks make the effort worthwhile.

Her biggest strength is fighting two or more targets, especially when enemies are spread apart. She can hit multiple targets with her aerial attacks while also gaining more Ultimate Energy from consuming Nature Inflictions.

Her Battle Skill and Combo Skill should be prioritized when building her, while the Deep Rampart set is a simple gear choice for most situations. Her signature weapon, Umbra of Frigid Eventide, is also her strongest option, especially when you do not have the characters and weapons that provide her with extra Attack.

The biggest issue with Typhoeus is her reliance on teammates that can apply Nature. Arcane is one of her best partners, while Gilberta can also help fill this role. Without strong Nature support, her performance can drop noticeably.

Overall, Typhoeus is a strong but more technical DPS. She rewards players who understand how to manage Nature Inflictions, Hunting Arrows, Signs, and her Hover attacks. Since the information comes from an Early Access server, some numbers, skills, or balance details may still change when the character officially releases.
