The Wrath Event in Anime Vanguards can be repetitive, especially when you are farming Wrath Coins for the event shop. Luckily, the game’s Auto Play feature can handle most of the work if you use the right units, Sin, and configuration.
This setup is built around Envy and a specific six-unit lineup. After importing the Auto Play code, the game can automatically place and upgrade your units throughout the 15-wave Shining Castle stage with very little manual input.

Best Units for Wrath Event Auto Play
Before starting the event, you need to arrange your units in the correct order. The Auto Play configuration uses slot numbers rather than checking the names of your units, so changing their positions can cause the strategy to fail.
Use the following lineup in exactly this order:
- Slot 1: Divalo (Requiem) — Monarch
- Slot 2: Reimu (Shrine Maid) — Exclusive
- Slot 3: Newsman (Forecast) — Exclusive
- Slot 4: Apathetic Savior (Door) — Monarch
- Slot 5: Cursed Lawyer (Tired) — Mythic
- Slot 6: Sprintwagon — Epic
All of the units used in this setup are level 60. Sprintwagon provides the money needed for upgrades, while Reimu becomes the main damage dealer once the Envy effect is active.
How to Import the Auto Play Code
Once your unit bar is prepared, you can enter the Wrath Event and import the configuration. Make sure Auto Play is disabled in the lobby before you begin setting everything up. Follow these steps:
- Turn Auto Play off while you are still in the lobby.
- Find History’s Strongest in the center of the lobby.
- Talk to the NPC and select the Wrath Event.
- Choose either Normal or Hard difficulty.
- After loading into the stage, select Envy from the Seven Sins.
- Open Autoplay Settings.
- Enter the configuration code GQL-8RP-5MF.
- Confirm the import and allow the placement and upgrade settings to load.
- Turn Auto Play back on.
Once Auto Play is activated, the game will begin following the imported configuration from the first wave. The units should automatically be placed and upgraded according to the saved setup.
Make sure your unit slots are correct before importing the code. If the units are in different positions, the configuration can place the wrong units and cause the run to fail early.
Why You Need to Pick Envy
The entire setup is designed around the Envy Sin. Its effect reduces the damage of your strongest non-farm unit by 30%, then gives the other non-farm units the same damage value.
Normally, losing 30% damage sounds like a bad trade. However, this becomes extremely powerful when combined with a fast attacker like Reimu (Shrine Maid).
Reimu attacks every 0.9 seconds and covers a wide area. Once Envy gives her the copied damage value, she can repeatedly hit enemies with extremely high damage instead of relying on the slower attacks of your strongest unit.
This is the main reason the Auto Play strategy works so well. Divalo (Requiem) provides additional enemy control, while Sprintwagon handles the economy and makes sure the required upgrades can be purchased.
Normal vs Hard Mode Auto Play
The imported configuration can be used on both Normal and Hard Mode. However, the two difficulties are not equally reliable when you leave the game unattended.
- Normal Mode: 100 Wrath Coins per clear
- Hard Mode: 200 Wrath Coins per clear
- Battle Pass XP: 3x on both difficulties
- Hard Mode: Enemies have significantly more health
- Normal Mode: More consistent for unattended farming
- Hard Mode: Higher rewards but can occasionally fail on Wave 15
If you are actively watching the run, Hard Mode is generally better because you receive twice as many Wrath Coins. Five successful Hard clears provide 1,000 coins, while Normal requires ten clears for the same amount.
For completely unattended farming, Normal Mode is the safer option because the Auto Play setup is less likely to fail.
Why Hard Mode Can Fail on Wave 15
The main problem with Hard Mode happens during the final wave. The Wave 15 boss, The Original, can mind-control your units and remove them from the field.
This becomes a major problem if Reimu is one of the units affected. Since Reimu is responsible for dealing most of the damage created by the Envy strategy, losing her can cause the entire setup to collapse.
Auto Play may not replace the lost units quickly enough to recover before the wave ends. As a result, the run can fail even though the previous 14 waves went perfectly.
One way to reduce this risk is to use the Bounty Hunter familiar on important units. Its protection against The Original’s mind-control effect can help keep the key parts of your setup active during the final wave.
How to Check If the Auto Play Run Worked
After completing Wave 15, look for the Show Endscreen button on the completion banner. Open it to view the final match results.
The results screen should show the rewards earned from the run, including your Wrath Coins and Gems. This confirms that the event was successfully completed and the currency was awarded.
If you are sent back to the lobby without seeing the results, the run did not successfully register. In that situation, check the most common problems first.
- Make sure your six units are in the correct slot order.
- Confirm that you selected Envy before starting the waves.
- Check that the Auto Play code was imported correctly.
- Make sure Auto Play was turned on after importing the configuration.
- If Hard Mode fails on Wave 15, check whether The Original mind-controlled Reimu or another important unit.
Best Way to Farm Wrath Coins With Auto Play
Once the setup is working correctly, you can repeatedly run the Wrath Event with very little manual interaction. Hard Mode is the better choice if you want to maximize coins and can accept occasional Wave 15 failures. Normal Mode is better when your priority is consistency. Since it provides 100 Wrath Coins per successful clear, it can be used for safer long-term farming.
Wrath Coins can then be spent in the event shop on items such as Trait Rerolls, Memoria Shards, Phoenix Shards, Elemental Shards, Corruption Crystals, and the event’s 1,000-coin equipment rewards.
The Wrath Event is a good target for Auto Play farming because its 15-wave structure is easy to repeat once your team is properly configured. The important parts are using the correct six units, keeping their slots in the required order, selecting Envy, and importing the GQL-8RP-5MF configuration.
For the safest experience, use Normal Mode. If you want to earn Wrath Coins faster and do not mind occasionally checking the final wave, Hard Mode provides 200 coins per clear and can significantly speed up your event shop farming.
