The Veil Whale Update Guide: New Boss, Secret Quest, Star Fruits, and More
The Whale Update has finally arrived in The Veil, bringing a new Mega Boss, a secret questline, Star Fruits, new weapons, and several balance changes. While the update is not massive in terms of total content, it adds quite a few things for players to explore, especially if you enjoy PvE content.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of the new boss and the quest required to reach it. The update also changes the Prestige system and makes it easier to obtain more Prestiges, which can affect how rewarding PvP encounters become. There is also a major nerf to the Summoner build, although it still remains usable.
How to Start the New Boss Quest
Finding the quest for the new Mega Boss can be confusing because it is not located in the Manor. The quest is actually connected to the Library, so players looking around the wrong area can easily waste a lot of time.
Once you reach the Library, look for the quest that gives you the next clue. The book tells you that the dead are looking for respite and asks you to find a ghost out in the area to learn more about the fourth crime.
This starts the questline that eventually leads you toward the new boss. Some of the objectives can take time because certain NPCs and enemies you need to find do not always appear exactly where you expect them to.
Finding the Ghost
After picking up the quest, you need to find a ghost that can provide the next objective. The ghost gives you a task involving explorers and their souls. The objective requires you to lead explorers home and allow five of them to die while they are under your watch. This part of the quest can be frustrating because the adventurers appear around the area, and finding the right ones can take some time.
You also need to make sure the explorers actually die before moving on. If you’re having trouble completing this part, keep searching the surrounding area for more adventurers and wait for them to spawn.
Complete the Bell Tower Objective

After completing the explorer objective, you need to return to the ghost and continue the questline. Eventually, you will be directed toward the Bell Tower.
The Bell Tower can also be annoying to locate, especially if you have never explored the area before. Once you find it, climb to the top and interact with the bell to progress the quest.
Ringing the bell is an important part of the sequence because it leads into the final stage of the new boss quest. From there, you can finally prepare to face the new Mega Boss.
New Mega Boss
The Mega Boss is one of the main reasons to check out the Whale Update. Instead of simply adding another regular enemy, the developers have connected the boss to its own questline, giving players something to work toward before reaching the encounter.
The boss is designed around the game’s PvE progression, which is one of the stronger parts of The Veil. Players who enjoy fighting challenging bosses and experimenting with different builds should have plenty to test once they reach this stage.
However, you should make sure your character is properly prepared before attempting the fight. If your character is still using weaker equipment, the encounter can become much harder than expected.
Star Fruits and New Weapons
The update also introduces Star Fruits and several new weapons. These additions give players more reasons to continue grinding after completing the existing progression.
Star Fruits are part of the new content introduced with the Whale Update, while the weapons give players additional options when building their characters. Depending on your current setup, these additions could be worth farming for as you prepare for the Mega Boss.
The new equipment is also useful for players who want to experiment with different builds rather than sticking with the same setup throughout the game.
Summoner Build Nerf
One of the biggest balance changes in the update affects the Summoner build. The developers have nerfed Summoner significantly, making it weaker than it was before the update.
Despite the nerf, Summoner is not completely useless. The build can still be used effectively, although players who relied heavily on it may need to adjust how they play or consider other options.
This is worth keeping in mind before spending too many resources rebuilding your character. A nerf does not automatically mean that a build has become unplayable.
Prestige Changes

The Prestige system has also received changes in the Whale Update. Players can now reach up to six Prestiges, while the process of obtaining Prestiges has also become easier.
On paper, this gives players more progression to work toward. However, the change also has an impact on PvP because higher Prestige progression can make killing other players more rewarding.
This has become one of the more controversial parts of the update for players who mainly enjoy The Veil for its PvE content.
The PvP Problem
For players who prefer PvE, the changes to Prestige and PvP rewards can be frustrating. The Veil has some enjoyable boss encounters and PvE progression, but being attacked by another player while fighting a boss can interrupt that experience.
The problem becomes more noticeable when a player is not properly equipped for PvP. Someone who is focused on PvE may have strong boss damage but weak PvP gear, making them an easy target for another player.
A PvP toggle or some kind of protection while fighting bosses could make the experience better for players who simply want to focus on PvE. This would allow PvP players to enjoy their side of the game while giving PvE-focused players more control over how they play.
Is the Whale Update Good?
Despite the PvP concerns, the Whale Update is still a solid addition to The Veil. Getting a new Mega Boss, secret questline, Star Fruits, weapons, and balance changes only a short time after release gives players plenty of new content to explore.
The update also shows that the developers are actively adding new progression instead of leaving the game unchanged. The new boss quest alone can take some time to complete, especially if you have to search for ghosts, adventurers, the Library, and the Bell Tower.
The biggest problem is the way the Prestige changes interact with PvP. For players who mostly care about PvE, being forced into unwanted PvP encounters can take away from some of the fun.
The Whale Update is a good update overall, especially for players who enjoy The Veil’s PvE content. The new Mega Boss gives experienced players another difficult target, while the secret questline adds a reason to explore areas that might otherwise be ignored.
Star Fruits, new weapons, Prestige changes, and the Summoner nerf also give the game’s progression a fresh shake-up. However, the PvP changes are harder to recommend for players who want to focus purely on bosses and PvE.
For now, the update feels like a strong step forward for The Veil. If the developers can improve the PvP system or give players a way to opt out of unwanted PvP, the overall experience could become much better for PvE-focused players.
