Ride a Pet Mutations Guide How to Get & What Each Does!
Mutations are one of the best ways to make your pets more valuable in Ride a Pet. A mutated pet can move faster, produce more money every second, and sell for a much higher price than a normal version.
The mutation system is connected to special weather events that can appear while you are playing. Each weather type can give a different mutation, with stronger weather effects providing much bigger bonuses.
How to Get Mutations in Ride a Pet
Mutations can only be obtained through weather events. When one of these events becomes active, it can affect eggs and pets around the map. There are currently five weather events that can trigger mutations:
- Thunder — Gives the Shocked Mutation
- Volt — Gives the Volted Mutation
- Rage — Gives the Rage Mutation
- Void — Gives the Void Mutation
- Eternal — Gives the Eternal Mutation
Each weather event lasts for five minutes. Whenever the weather changes, each event has an equal chance of appearing.
During an active weather event, eggs across the map will receive the corresponding mutation. These mutated eggs can then hatch into pets with the same mutation.
Can Pets Get Mutated?
Yes. Pets can also receive mutations during weather events, but there are some conditions to keep in mind. Pets placed inside your Pen have an unknown chance of receiving the active mutation while the weather event is happening. If you are currently riding a pet when the event starts, that pet also has a chance to become mutated.
However, pets sitting inside your inventory cannot receive mutations from weather events. Because of this, keeping pets in your Pen or actively riding one gives you a chance to benefit from the mutation event.
What Are All the Mutations in Ride a Pet?
Ride a Pet Mutations Guide How to Get & What Each Does!
There are currently five mutations available in Ride a Pet. Each mutation provides a different multiplier to Speed, Money per Second, and the pet’s selling value.
The bonuses are:
Shocked Mutation
The Shocked Mutation is connected to the Thunder weather event.
When an egg becomes Shocked, it has a chance to hatch a pet with the Shocked Mutation.
A Shocked pet receives:
- 2x Speed
- 2x Money per Second
- 2x Sale Value
This is the first mutation tier and is the easiest one to encounter compared to the stronger versions.
Volted Mutation
The Volted Mutation comes from the Volt weather event.
Eggs affected by Volt have a chance to hatch a Volted pet. Pets that receive this mutation gain a stronger boost than Shocked pets.
A Volted pet receives:
- 3x Speed
- 3x Money per Second
- 3x Sale Value
Rage Mutation
The Rage Mutation is created by the Rage weather event.
Eggs affected by this weather can hatch pets with the Rage Mutation. The bonus is higher than both Shocked and Volted.
A Rage pet receives:
- 4x Speed
- 4x Money per Second
- 4x Sale Value
This makes Rage pets useful for both earning Coins and improving movement speed.
Void Mutation
Void is one of the stronger mutations currently available in Ride a Pet.
It comes from the Void weather event and gives a much larger boost than the lower mutation tiers.
A Void pet receives:
- 10x Speed
- 10x Money per Second
- 10x Sale Value
Void-mutated pets can therefore be extremely valuable if you manage to obtain one.
Eternal Mutation
Eternal is currently the highest mutation listed in Ride a Pet.
It is triggered by the Eternal weather event and provides an enormous boost to the affected pet.
An Eternal pet receives:
- 100x Speed
- 100x Money per Second
- 100x Sale Value
Because of the 100x multiplier, an Eternal mutation can dramatically increase both the earning potential and selling value of a pet.
Mutation Bonus Comparison
The current mutation multipliers increase as follows:
- Shocked — 2x
- Volted — 3x
- Rage — 4x
- Void — 10x
- Eternal — 100x
These multipliers affect three important parts of the pet: movement speed, passive money generation, and sale value.
This means mutations are useful whether you want to move around the map faster, earn Coins while your pet is active, or sell pets for more money.
How Weather Events Work
Weather events are temporary, so you need to take advantage of them while they are active.
Each event lasts for five minutes before the weather changes again. Since all five weather events have an equal chance of appearing, you cannot simply choose the mutation you want whenever you feel like it.
When the desired weather appears, focus on the eggs and pets you want to mutate before the five-minute window ends.
Tips for Getting Mutated Pets
If you’re trying to build a collection of mutated pets, a few things can help:
- Keep pets in your Pen during weather events.
- Ride a pet during the event for an additional mutation chance.
- Do not leave pets inside your inventory if you want them to have a chance to mutate.
- Watch for the weather change so you know which mutation is currently active.
- Make sure you have enough eggs ready before a useful weather event begins.
- Focus on higher-value pets when stronger mutations appear.
- Use the five-minute event window efficiently.
Are Mutations Worth Getting?
Mutations can be very valuable because they improve three major pet statistics at the same time. A mutated pet can travel faster, generate more money per second, and sell for more Coins. The stronger mutations become especially valuable because their multipliers increase dramatically. For example, an Eternal pet receives a 100x multiplier across all three benefits, making it far more valuable than a normal pet.
The mutation system gives Ride a Pet another reason to pay attention to changing weather. With five current weather events, players can obtain mutations ranging from Shocked at 2x to Eternal at 100x. Remember that weather events only last for five minutes, so timing matters. Keep your pets in your Pen or ride them during the event, and make sure your desired eggs are ready when the right weather appears. As new weather events and mutations are added to Ride a Pet, the mutation system could become even more important for players looking to build faster and more profitable pets.
