Legacy Piece Chad & Solemn Lament Mastery Guide

The latest Legacy Piece update adds more than just Queen of Hatred. Players can now unlock Chad from Bleach and complete a new Solemn Lament mastery questline that eventually unlocks a Gatling Gun mode.

Both progression paths have several requirements, but Chad is relatively simple to unlock at first. Solemn Lament takes more farming because you need to complete multiple challenges, defeat specific bosses, reach max mastery, and finish a final boss fight.

How to Get Chad in Legacy Piece

Chad’s questline begins on Hollow Island. Look for the Chad NPC and interact with him to start the progression.

The first part is straightforward and requires you to use Chad in combat. After completing the initial requirements, you will unlock Chad and can equip him before returning to the Chad NPC for the next part of the questline.

Chad Requirements

The Chad progression can be grouped into these main objectives:

• Go to Hollow Island.
• Find the Chad NPC.
• Complete the initial Chad quest.
• Unlock Chad.
• Equip Chad.
• Use Chad’s skills in combat.
• Kill enemies with Chad.
• Deal damage with Chad.
• Take damage while using Chad.
• Return to the Chad NPC.
• Challenge and defeat the Chad NPC.
• Start the first awakening quest.
• Parry an attack and immediately use a move afterward.
• Farm the Chad boss for the required materials.
• Reach max mastery on Chad.
• Complete the Chad trial challenge.
• Unlock the Fullbring passive.

Complete the Chad Combat Quest

After unlocking Chad, equip him and begin using his abilities against enemies. The next objective is mainly about getting familiar with his moves while completing combat requirements. You need to use Chad’s skills, defeat enemies, deal damage, and take damage. Once you have finished the required tasks, return to the Chad NPC and challenge him. Defeat the Chad NPC to unlock the next part of the progression. After winning the fight, several dialogue options will become available.

Start Chad’s First Awakening

When you speak to the Chad NPC after defeating him, you will see multiple options. Choose the option called “Teach Me to Stand My Own Ground.”

This starts the first awakening quest. The objective requires you to perform a parry and then immediately follow it with one of your moves. You will also need to collect specific materials during this stage. The required materials come from the Chad boss on Hollow Island. Spawn the boss and repeatedly defeat him until you have obtained everything required for the awakening quest.

Chad Second Awakening Trial

After completing the first awakening requirement, the second awakening quest becomes available. This stage requires you to reach max mastery with Chad before attempting the trial. Once Chad reaches maximum mastery, return to the Chad NPC and start the trial challenge. The trial boss has a special mechanic that makes the fight different from a normal boss battle. Your attacks only deal around 1% damage unless you correctly parry the boss first.

How to Beat the Chad Trial Boss

The most important mechanic in the trial is the parry window. You need to parry the boss’s attack before immediately following up with your own abilities. The boss also has a dangerous attack when its HP becomes low. A red circle will appear as part of the attack indicator. Wait for the red circle to disappear, then perform your parry at the correct timing.

Missing this timing can cause you to die immediately, so do not rush the attack. If you fail the trial, simply return to the Chad NPC and attempt it again. After successfully completing the trial, you will unlock Chad’s Fullbring passive.

How Chad’s Fullbring Passive Works

The Fullbring passive allows you to build stacks by using Chad’s moves. Once you have accumulated enough stacks, you can activate the V move to enter the Fullbring mode. This changes Chad’s appearance and gives you access to another set of abilities for a limited amount of time.

It essentially works as an enhanced combat state rather than being a single additional attack. The mode gives Chad a completely different move set, making the awakening feel like a major upgrade rather than a simple stat increase.

How to Unlock Solemn Lament Mastery

The second major addition is the Solemn Lament mastery questline. To begin it, travel to Graveyard Island and find the Ferryman NPC. Speak to the Ferryman and select the dialogue option:

• “The coffin on my back keeps knocking.”

Choosing this option starts the Solemn Lament mastery questline.

Solemn Lament Requirements

The entire Solemn Lament progression can be grouped into these objectives:

• Go to Graveyard Island.
• Talk to the Ferryman.
• Choose the coffin dialogue option.
• Complete the initial Solemn Lament quests.
• Increase Requiem by farming bosses.
• Kill 15 mobs without reloading.
• Defeat bosses using Solemn Lament.
• Defeat the Solemn Lament boss.
• Complete the required finisher objective.
• Defeat all bosses listed in the next quest using Solemn Lament.
• Reach max Solemn Lament mastery.
• Talk to the Ferryman.
• Spawn Paul Bearer.
• Defeat Paul Bearer.
• Use the B move to finish Paul Bearer.
• Unlock the new Solemn Lament passive and skill.

Complete the First Solemn Lament Quests

After starting the questline, you need to use Solemn Lament while farming enemies and bosses. One of the early requirements involves killing 15 mobs without reloading. You will also need to defeat bosses while using Solemn Lament, including the Solemn Lament boss itself.

Some objectives require you to finish enemies using the designated finisher move, so pay attention to the exact quest requirement before ending each fight. The Requiem progression increases naturally as you continue farming bosses, meaning you can work on several requirements at the same time.

Defeat the Required Bosses

Once the initial Solemn Lament objectives are finished, another quest will require you to defeat a list of specific bosses while using Solemn Lament. The bosses can be fought at any difficulty according to the quest requirement.

Some fights are more troublesome than others, with Ichigo and Yhwach being highlighted as the harder encounters. Global bosses can also count toward progression, and other players can help you during those fights. Make sure Solemn Lament is being used as required so your kills count toward the quest.

Reach Max Solemn Lament Mastery

The final stage of the mastery questline requires max mastery on Solemn Lament. Keep farming enemies and bosses while using the weapon until you reach the maximum mastery level.

This can take some time, but you can combine mastery farming with the other Solemn Lament objectives instead of treating every requirement as a separate grind. Once max mastery is complete, return to the Ferryman on Graveyard Island.

Defeat Paul Bearer

After reaching max Solemn Lament mastery, speak to the Ferryman again to spawn Paul Bearer. This is the final fight required to unlock the new Solemn Lament ability and passive. Fight Paul Bearer normally until his HP becomes low.

When the boss is almost defeated, use the B move to land the finishing blow. Make sure the B move actually finishes the boss because this is part of the final quest requirement. After completing the fight, the new Solemn Lament progression will be unlocked.

How the Solemn Lament Gatling Gun Works

The new Solemn Lament passive is based around stacking. You need to use your moves during combat to build up the required stacks. Once the stacks reach the maximum amount, you can activate the ability that switches you into the Gatling Gun mode.

The Gatling Gun gives you a new set of attacks and a large number of bullets to use against enemies. You can switch between the normal Solemn Lament moves and the Gatling mode while the transformation is active.

How to Use the Gatling Gun

The Gatling Gun has a limited amount of ammunition. Unlike a traditional weapon, you cannot reload the Gatling Gun once the bullets are depleted.

Instead, the mode ends when you run out of ammunition. You then need to return to the normal Solemn Lament playstyle and build your stacks again before activating the Gatling mode.

This means the best time to activate the Gatling Gun is when you have a strong target or boss available and can make good use of the limited bullets.

The Chad and Solemn Lament additions give Legacy Piece two different progression paths to work through. Chad focuses heavily on parrying and his Fullbring awakening, while Solemn Lament revolves around mastery, boss farming, and building stacks for its powerful Gatling Gun mode.

If you are starting both questlines, focus on completing the requirements in groups. Farm the Chad boss while working on his awakening materials, and use Solemn Lament against enemies and bosses while increasing Requiem and mastery. This reduces the amount of separate grinding needed before you can unlock both new abilities.
