Slayers 2 Fishing Permit Guide, How to Obtain and Start Fishing!

Fishing in Slayers 2 is not available from the start. Before you can buy a fishing rod, bait, or start catching fish, you first need to unlock the Fishing Permit. This requires a short quest where you help recover a missing Permit Stamp.

The quest is fairly simple, but finding the stamp can be confusing if you don’t know where to look. You also need to meet a few requirements before Doc Master Sofen will give you the quest.

Requirements to Start the Fishing Permit Quest

Before traveling to the fishing dock, make sure your character is ready. The quest has a level requirement and also requires you to pay a fee when accepting it.

You will need:

• Level 45 or higher
• 5,000 W
• Some free inventory space

The 5,000 W is taken immediately when you accept the quest from Doc Master Sofen. Because of this, it is better to prepare the money before heading to the fishing area.

Where to Find Doc Master Sofen

The NPC you need is Doc Master Sofen. He can be found at the fishing dock below Windy Peak. To reach the area, travel through Vinefall Cavern and continue down toward the water. You should eventually reach a wooden platform that serves as the fishing dock.

Sofen is standing along the dock walkway near Fisherman Jesso and the fishing equipment area. Jesso is also important later, but you cannot properly access the fishing equipment until you have completed Sofen’s permit quest. Once you are level 45 and have 5,000 W, talk to Sofen and accept his quest.

How to Find the Missing Permit Stamp

After accepting the quest, your objective will be to recover the missing Permit Stamp. Thankfully, you don’t need to travel very far from the fishing dock.

Turn around from the dock and cross the water behind it. You can swim across normally, or use repeated dashes over the water if your character has enough mobility.

Your destination is the stone cliff on the opposite side of the water.

Once you reach the cliff, look for a group of wooden crates placed against the stone wall. A blue box should also be nearby. The missing Permit Stamp can be found in this area.

You don’t need to search the entire waterfront. Focus on the stone cliff, wooden crates, and blue box. The stamp has a glow that makes it easier to notice once you are close.

Walk over to the Permit Stamp and interact with it to collect the item.

Return the Permit Stamp to Sofen

After picking up the stamp, the quest will automatically update. Your next objective is to return to Doc Master Sofen.

Cross the water again and make your way back to the fishing dock below Windy Peak. Talk to Sofen and select the dialogue option that allows you to give him the recovered Permit Stamp.

The quest should finish immediately after you hand over the item.

As a reward, you will receive the Fishing Permit along with XP and health potions. You can also check your inventory afterward to make sure the Fishing Permit has been added to your character.

How to Start Fishing in Slayers 2

With the Fishing Permit unlocked, you can finally return to Fisherman Jesso at the dock.

Jesso’s dialogue changes once you have the permit. Instead of being blocked by the fishing permit requirement, you can now access the fishing equipment and begin working toward your fishing rods.

The first thing you should focus on is getting the basic Fishing Rod.

You cannot immediately jump to the Rare Fishing Rod because one of its requirements is Golden Fish. You need the basic rod to start catching fish and work toward collecting those Golden Fish.

Fishing Rod and Bait Costs

The basic Fishing Rod is your starting point for the fishing progression. After you have it, you can begin catching fish and collecting the items needed for better equipment.

The Rare Fishing Rod has the following listed requirements:

• 10,000 W
• 5 Golden Fish

You will also need bait if you plan to spend time fishing. The available Worm Bait costs 4 W per piece, while a pack of 50 Worm Bait costs 200 W.

If you plan to fish for a long time, buying the 50-bait bundle is more convenient than purchasing individual bait repeatedly.

Is the Fishing Permit Permanent?

The Fishing Permit fee is described as a one-time 5,000 W cost for each character. Once you complete the missing stamp quest and unlock the permit, you don’t have to repeat the entire quest every time you want to go fishing.

The fishing rods are also listed as permanent purchases. This means the main progression only needs to be completed once before you can continue fishing normally with that character.

Getting the Fishing Permit in Slayers 2 is mostly about knowing where to find the missing stamp. The quest itself is short, and the main requirements are reaching level 45 and having 5,000 W ready for the quest fee.

Once you return the stamp to Sofen, the fishing system becomes available through Fisherman Jesso. From there, get the basic Fishing Rod first, collect Golden Fish, and eventually work toward the Rare Fishing Rod. If you know the exact location of the cliff, crates, and blue box, the permit quest should only take a short time to complete.
