Fisch Halibut Harpoon Mastery Riddles Guide

The Halibut Harpoon received a new mastery questline in the Fisch Version 2.04 update. Instead of simply catching random fish, these quests give you short riddles that hint at what you need to do.

There are four Halibut Harpoon Mastery quests in total. Completing them can unlock several rewards, including the Dreaming Puffers Supporter Halo, Pufferfish Balloon, Terminus Lantern, and the powerful Terminus Enhancement for the Halibut Harpoon. The hardest part is figuring out what each clue is asking you to catch. Here is how to solve every Halibut Harpoon mastery riddle.

All Halibut Harpoon Mastery Riddles

The four mastery quests are:

  • 500 Suggestions — Catch 5 Limited fish with the Halibut Harpoon.
  • These are Pufferfish? — Catch Greenland Halibut, Halibut, and Hoarfrost Halibut.
  • They fly now? — Catch a Wyvern with the Halibut Harpoon.
  • Terminus — Complete the Terminus Challenge with 25 specific fish in order.

Completing all four quests gives you the Flak Krakenling skin for the Halibut Harpoon.

500 Suggestions Riddle Solution

Riddle:
“I’m blue on special occasions. (0/5)”

This clue points toward Limited fish. The reference to being blue on special occasions is the hint you need to identify the rarity.

To complete the quest, equip the Halibut Harpoon and catch five Limited fish.

There are no specific fish that you have to catch for this objective. Any five fish with the Limited rarity will count toward the quest.

How to Complete 500 Suggestions

  1. Equip the Halibut Harpoon.
  2. Find a fishing location where Limited fish are available.
  3. Use bait that gives you a good chance of catching Limited fish.
  4. Catch five Limited fish.
  5. The mastery quest will be completed automatically.

500 Suggestions Rewards

Completing this riddle gives you:

  • Limited and Special bait Enhancement for the Halibut Harpoon
  • 1 Terminus Fragment

You do not need to catch a specific Limited fish, so this is one of the easier Halibut Harpoon mastery quests.

These are Pufferfish? Riddle Solution

Riddle:
“We’re making up rules, so the rod requirements should be based on its appearance? (0/3)”

This clue is referring to fish that match the Halibut theme. You need to catch three specific fish using the Halibut Harpoon.

The required fish are:

  • Greenland Halibut
  • Halibut
  • Hoarfrost Halibut

All three must be caught with the Halibut Harpoon for the quest to count.

Halibut

Rarity: Rare
Location: Ocean / Deep Ocean
Bait: Squid
Time: Any
Season: Spring, Summer
Weather: Rain

Halibut is one of the easier fish needed for this quest, although you still need the correct conditions to improve your chances.

Greenland Halibut

Rarity: Rare
Location: Boreal Pines
Bait: Worm
Time: Any
Season: Winter
Weather: Any

Travel to Boreal Pines and use Worm bait while the Winter season is active.

Hoarfrost Halibut

Rarity: Legendary
Location: Challenger’s Deep
Bait: Fish Head
Time: Day
Season: Winter
Weather: Clear

Hoarfrost Halibut is the more difficult catch of the three because you need to be in Challenger’s Deep during the correct conditions.

These are Pufferfish? Rewards

Once all three fish have been caught with the Halibut Harpoon, you receive:

  • Dreaming Puffers Supporter Halo
  • Hadopelagic Title
  • 1 Terminus Fragment

They Fly Now? Riddle Solution

Riddle:
“Bring the depths to those that fly the highest! (0/1)”

This one sounds confusing at first, but the clue points toward a creature that flies high while being connected to the depths.

The answer is the Wyvern.

Equip your Halibut Harpoon and catch one Wyvern to finish the quest.

Wyvern Fishing Information

Rarity: Exotic
Location: Above The Clouds
Bait: Truffle Worm or Starlight Worm
Time: Any
Season: Any
Weather: Rain

The main requirement is that you use the Halibut Harpoon when catching the Wyvern.

There are no additional mastery restrictions for this quest, making it much simpler than the final Terminus challenge.

They Fly Now? Reward

Completing this quest gives you:

  • Pufferfish Balloon
  • 1 Terminus Fragment

Terminus Challenge Guide

The final mastery quest is simply called Terminus, and it is easily the most difficult of the four.

The requirement is:

Complete the Terminus Challenge using the Halibut Harpoon without any Companions or Gloves equipped.

You must complete the challenge by catching 25 specific fish in a set order.

This is important because catching the correct fish out of order will not satisfy the requirement. Follow the list carefully.

Complete Terminus Fish Order

The required order is:

  1. Frostwyrm
  2. Livyatan
  3. Scylla
  4. Plesiosaur
  5. Colossal Ethereal Dragon
  6. Ancient Goldwraith
  7. Bloop Fish
  8. Wyvern
  9. Ancestral Pliosaur
  10. Elder Mossjaw
  11. Awakened Omnithal
  12. Profane Leviathan
  13. Colossus Reef Titan
  14. Ancient Kraken
  15. Skeletal Leviathan
  16. Ancestral Abaia
  17. Veiled Charybdis
  18. Photic Terrosunder
  19. Tidecrasher Archon
  20. Helios Sunray
  21. Kerauno Wyrm
  22. Legionnaire Lamprey
  23. Styx Angler
  24. Skolopendra
  25. Olympian Devil

Before starting the challenge, make sure you have the Halibut Harpoon equipped and remove all Companions and Gloves.

Because the list contains 25 fish, it is a good idea to keep the order nearby while completing the challenge.

What Happens After Completing Terminus?

Finishing the Terminus Challenge rewards you with the Terminus Lantern and unlocks the Terminus Enhancement for the Halibut Harpoon.

This enhancement changes several parts of how the rod works, making it much more useful after completing the mastery questline.

Halibut Harpoon Terminus Enhancement

The Terminus Enhancement makes several major changes to the Halibut Harpoon.

Fish Weight Bonus Changes

The original +20% Fish Weight bonus is replaced with a chance-based effect.

You now have:

  • 50% chance for +25% Fish Weight
  • 50% chance for +35% Fish Weight

This gives the rod a higher potential Fish Weight bonus.

Missed Harpoons Still Give Progress

Harpoons that land outside the fishing bar will now provide 30% of their original progress.

This makes mistakes less punishing during the fishing minigame.

Faster Progress Locked Fish

The initial harpoon delay for Progress Locked Fish is reduced to 1.5 seconds.

This allows you to get back into the fishing process more quickly.

Better Bait Preservation

The enhancement also gives you a 40% increased chance for Bait Preservation.

This can help you save bait while continuing to fish.

Bait Rarity Passives

Bait rarity passives now work while you are using Harpoon Mode.

This gives your bait bonuses more value after obtaining the Terminus Enhancement.

Final Halibut Harpoon Mastery Reward

Once you complete all four mastery quests, you unlock the Flak Krakenling skin for the Halibut Harpoon.

The complete mastery path is therefore:

  • Complete 500 Suggestions
  • Complete These are Pufferfish?
  • Complete They fly now?
  • Finish the Terminus Challenge
  • Complete all four quests to unlock the Flak Krakenling skin

The Terminus Enhancement is the biggest gameplay reward because it changes the performance of the Halibut Harpoon, while the Flak Krakenling skin serves as the grand reward for finishing the entire mastery set.

Tips for Completing the Halibut Harpoon Mastery

Before starting the quests, make sure you have the Halibut Harpoon ready and enough bait for the required catches.

For the three Halibut-related fish, pay close attention to their individual locations and conditions. Hoarfrost Halibut in particular requires Winter, daytime, and clear weather at Challenger’s Deep.

The Wyvern quest is more straightforward, but you still need the correct bait and rainy weather at Above The Clouds.

For Terminus, the biggest mistake is forgetting the required order. Keep the 25-fish list available and work through it one step at a time. Also remember to remove your Companion and Gloves before attempting the challenge.

The Halibut Harpoon Mastery questline is built around solving clues and completing increasingly difficult fishing objectives. The first three riddles are relatively simple once you understand what each clue is pointing toward, while Terminus is the real test.

The rewards make the effort worthwhile. You can earn the Dreaming Puffers Supporter Halo, Hadopelagic Title, Pufferfish Balloon, Terminus Lantern, and eventually the Terminus Enhancement and Flak Krakenling skin. If you are working toward full Halibut Harpoon mastery, start with the three smaller riddles before preparing for the 25-fish Terminus Challenge.
