Gears of War: E-Day Weapons Tier List, Best One to Use and Where to find!
Gears of War: E-Day gives players a wide selection of weapons for both close and long-range combat. The game has primary and secondary weapons, and each gun has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some weapons are excellent in fast multiplayer fights, while others become much more useful when fighting waves of enemies in Horde Siege.
This tier list focuses mainly on multiplayer performance, while also pointing out weapons that are better suited for Horde Siege. Since E-Day is still relatively new, future balance updates could change the rankings.
S Tier Weapons

S Tier weapons are the strongest choices overall. They either have excellent damage, strong utility, or are reliable in a wide range of situations. These guns can be especially powerful when you understand their mechanics and know when to use them.
- Gnasher — Shotgun — Act 1 Chapter 1: Emergence
- Longshot — Sniper Rifle — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
- Incinerator — Imulsion Shotgun — Act 3 Chapter 1: Stranded
Gnasher
The Gnasher is part of the default loadout, so you always have access to it. Its biggest strength is close-range damage, as a well-placed shot can instantly take out an enemy. The weapon also works extremely well with movement techniques such as wall-bouncing, making it one of the most important weapons for aggressive players.
Longshot
The Longshot is one of the best choices for players with strong aim. It can be fired from the hip, so you do not always need to aim down sights. A headshot can instantly eliminate an enemy from any range, while several body shots can also bring enemies down quickly.
The weapon takes practice, but players who can consistently land accurate shots can get a lot of value from it.
Incinerator
The Incinerator is an Imulsion shotgun that combines strong burst damage with area control. Its shot can deal heavy damage while leaving an Imulsion trail that continues hurting enemies.
This makes it useful for controlling important areas and stopping opponents from pushing forward. It also performs well in Horde Siege, where controlling enemy movement can be especially valuable.
A Tier Weapons
A Tier weapons are strong choices that can perform very well when used correctly. They may have some limitations compared with the S Tier weapons, but their damage, utility, or versatility makes them reliable options.
- Prototype Lancer — Assault Rifle — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
- Hammerburst — Burst Assault Rifle — Act 1 Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest
- Torque Bow — Precision Bolt Launcher — Act 3 Chapter 5: Desperate Times
- Gut-Puncher — Grenade Launcher — Act 1 Chapter 4: Back in the Fold
Prototype Lancer
The Prototype Lancer comes with a large magazine, allowing you to keep firing without constantly stopping to reload. Its chainsaw is also useful for quickly finishing basic enemies at close range.
It is a straightforward and dependable weapon, making it a good option for players who are still learning E-Day’s combat system.
Hammerburst
The Hammerburst fires controlled three-round bursts, giving it strong accuracy at mid-range. Its hip fire is also useful, making it a flexible choice when enemies are outside the Gnasher’s ideal range.
One important multiplayer detail is that the Hammerburst is currently tied to power weapon spawns instead of being part of the standard loadout.
Torque Bow
The Torque Bow rewards accurate players. A body shot gives an enemy a short window before the bolt explodes, while a headshot can eliminate the target immediately.
You can also shoot the ground to create splash damage and force enemies away from cover. It takes practice to use effectively, but accurate players can make it extremely dangerous.
Gut-Puncher
The Gut-Puncher is a grenade launcher with several ways to catch enemies off guard. Its grenades can be detonated in mid-air, allowing you to time explosions around moving targets.
You can also bounce shots off walls to hit enemies hiding around corners. It is particularly useful for clearing groups and defending objectives in Horde Siege.
B Tier Weapons
B Tier weapons can still be effective, but they have more obvious drawbacks. Some are harder to use in fast multiplayer matches, while others become more valuable in Horde Siege.
- Lancer Mk1 — Assault Rifle — Act 1 Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest
- Ripper — Light Machine Gun — Act 3 Chapter 3: Last Foothold
- Snub — Sidearm (Pistol) — Act 1 Chapter 1: Emergence
- Breechshot — Precision Rifle — Act 2 Chapter 1: Bravo Squad
Lancer Mk1
The Lancer Mk1 can switch between semi-automatic and full-automatic fire, giving it some flexibility. However, its recoil makes it less consistent at longer distances.
The Gnasher also handles close-range combat better, which limits the Lancer Mk1’s role in multiplayer. It becomes more useful in Horde Siege, where enemies often give you more time to take advantage of its sustained fire.
Ripper
The Ripper gets faster the longer you hold the trigger. Once it reaches full speed, it can deal serious damage, but it takes some time to reach that point.
Its biggest problem is ammunition consumption. The Ripper can burn through ammo quickly, which can leave you without enough ammunition during an important fight. It is much easier to get value from this weapon in Horde Siege than in multiplayer.
Snub
The Snub is one of the more accurate weapons available and can be surprisingly useful at range. A well-timed active reload can also improve its damage.
With good aim, the Snub can compete with the Lancer Mk1 at longer distances. However, it remains a sidearm, so its main purpose is usually to help when your primary weapon runs out of ammunition.
Breechshot
The Breechshot can deal heavy damage with headshots, but its slow firing speed makes it difficult to use in fast multiplayer battles. Four body shots are needed to down an enemy, which can feel too slow when opponents are constantly moving.
It performs better in Horde Siege, especially for players who prefer taking on the Marksman role and can consistently land accurate shots.
C Tier Weapons
C Tier currently contains the Striga. The weapon can deal decent damage, but its slow charge time makes it difficult to use effectively during E-Day’s fast combat.
- Striga — Sidearm — Act 3 Chapter 2: Enemy Lines
Striga
The Striga requires a charge before it can fire, which creates a major problem in fast-paced fights. Enemies can easily attack or eliminate you while you are waiting for the shot to become ready.
Its damage per hit is useful, but the long preparation time does not make up for the risk. A significant reduction to its charge time would make the Striga much more practical.
What About the Signature Weapons?
Gears of War: E-Day also has four signature weapons tied to specific campaign characters. However, these weapons are exclusive to the campaign and do not carry over into multiplayer or Horde Siege.
Because of this, they are not included in the main tier rankings. They are still fun to use during the campaign, but mechanically they work in the same general way as their standard weapon versions.
The signature weapons are:
- Fenix’s Signature Proto Lancer — Assault Rifle — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
- Carter’s Signature Gut-Puncher — Grenade Launcher — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
- Reyes’ Signature Longshot — Sniper Rifle — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
- Santiago’s Signature Gnasher — Shotgun — Act 2 Chapter 2: Hold the Line
Best Weapons for Multiplayer
For multiplayer, the Gnasher remains one of the safest choices because close-range encounters are so important and the weapon can quickly eliminate enemies when your shots connect. The Longshot is another strong pick for players with reliable aim, while the Incinerator offers both damage and area control.
The A Tier weapons are also worth using depending on your playstyle. The Prototype Lancer is simple and reliable, the Hammerburst is strong at mid-range, and the Torque Bow rewards players who can land precise shots.
Best Weapons for Horde Siege
Horde Siege changes the value of some weapons. Guns that may struggle in fast multiplayer fights can become more useful when you have more opportunities to control enemy waves.
The Incinerator and Gut-Puncher are particularly useful for controlling groups, while the Lancer Mk1 and Ripper can provide sustained damage. The Breechshot can also work well for players who prefer a more defensive Marksman-style approach.
The best weapon in Gears of War: E-Day depends heavily on the situation and your preferred playstyle. S Tier weapons currently provide the strongest overall performance, while A Tier options remain highly competitive. B Tier weapons have more specific strengths, and the Striga sits lower because of its long charge time.
Multiplayer and Horde Siege can also change how effective a weapon feels. Before deciding that a gun is weak, try it in both modes and see whether its strengths match the situation. Balance updates may also change these rankings as E-Day continues to receive new patches.
