I have always love and hate a console series game going to the android devices. I love it because it hype you up the nostalgia and the feels. I hate it because it usually is not up to your expectation, making a bad name to the franchise and leaving a bad taste after playing it for a while.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that every franchise that release its mobile android version are bad, just some of it. Well, after all that is said, Star Ocean franchise release a new android game in celebration for their 20th year anniversary and so let us review about the game Star Ocean: Anamnesis.

STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS is an epic action-RPG that puts you in the captain’s chair as you lead a team of heroes across the galaxy. Immerse yourself in a rich sci-fi fantasy universe and experience fast-paced combat rendered with gorgeous 3D graphics!
In my opinion, this game is a really good game. The graphic is phenomenal! You won’t see that many game that has a gorgeous graphic. Each character lvl 4 and above has their own skill sets that is both stunning and beautiful that will let feel mesmerize each time you use it.
The game play is also great. You will be on your space ship, advancing into the story line while killing some monster that stands in your ways.
In the battle, you will control 1 out of 4 character and you can change them whenever you want. Each character has their own jobs from Guard, Attacker, Sharpshooter, Invoker, and Healer. As their name stated:
- Guard: For tanking (High HP and Low Attack)
- Attacker: Balance (Mid HP and Mid Attack)
- Sharpshooter: Attacker (Low HP and High Attack)
- Invoker: AP User attacker (Low HP and High Attack but use AP)
- Healer: AP User Support (Low HP, and Low Attack but can use heal)
Note: AP is MP in the game. Each battle will start with 100 AP, and if you use a skill, depending on how much it cost, you will be able to use the skill. The more a skill use a AP the more powerful it is.
The game got a multiplayer feature, where you can play with your friends. Dungeon feature to hunt more stuff and upgrades, and Treasure dungeon feature to get more gold. Which makes it possible for new player to catch up. The gacha rate is also good too, and you will get a 5star hero the first time you play it.
The game is very good, but that doesn’t mean that it is perfect. You see, the game has too many loading time. Like really, after finishing a stage, load. After finishing a story, Load. Going back to your home screen, load. Buying something, load.
