In the first week of June, this year’s Pokemon Global GO Fest was held, and it turns out that many individuals had negative opinions about the event. This is because of the numerous disagreements and criticisms from players on social media regarding the event’s low Shiny Pokemon percentages.

This is not the first time that players have condemned a Niantic event, but this is the first time that Niantic’s director has replied to the events of “Pokemon Go Fest 2022.” Michael Steranka of Dot Esport stated that they are aware that certain Pokemon GO trainers evaluate competitions based on the number of Shiny Pokémon they capture. However, he stated that if Shiny Pokemon were too easy to capture, it would eventually spoil the game.

Pokemon GO Fest

Pokemon Go Fest is a Pokemon GO event that was designed to bring players together, whether for capturing Pokemon, raiding, battling, or exploring. Ideally, it is a fun event presented to players by the game’s producers.

This AR game was originally criticized by gamers for making it too easy to obtain Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO. The game has a ratio of 1 Shiny Pokemon per 500 Pokemon, compared to the main series on the console, which has a ratio of 1 Shiny Pokemon per 8192 Pokemon.
