Recently, AnTuTu, one of the smartphone users’ most trusted benchmark software, released the AnTuTu edition of the list of the fastest Android phones for May 2022. They categorized them into three groups in the report: flagship, mid-range, and low-end.

Apple’s iPhone has been renowned for the list for years; the hardware is designed for the software, and vice versa.  Without a question, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the best chipset in the Android camp. Its presence indicates that we are dealing with a premium smartphone. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the finest Android phones in the category include the stated SoC.

Nonetheless, it is not flawless. We are aware that the chip employs the 4nm process node from Samsung, which has some heating difficulties. For the newly released Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, TSMC’s same manufacturing process proved more stable. The first smartphone powered by this innovative microprocessor is not yet commercially accessible. and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 continues to reign supreme in this category.

First position is held by the Black Shark 5 Pro with an average score of 1,048,179; second place is held by the Red Magic 7 Pro with an average score of 1,032,445; and the third place is held by the Lenovo Y90 with an average score of 1,019,940. As can be seen, the top three smartphones are gaming phones. Nonetheless, the Black Shark 5 Pro wins the race thanks to the mix of SSD and UFS 3.1.

Two devices with a Dimensity of 9000 are also included in the list of the greatest Android phones. With an average score of 1,013,800, VIVO X80 is ranked fourth. We estimate that this processor’s GPU performance is inferior to that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Because of this, it appears in the fourth position.
